Don't you know the problem?

You are writing a publication with LaTeX but the inscription of your graphs look ugly.

Therefore it would be nice to have the full power of LaTeX typesetting within Matlab. (Newer Matlab versions contain a TeX-link interpreter for smaller typesettig jobs, but this fails if you want to have complex formulas in you graph.)

MatToLa is a tool to extract letters out of your Matlab figure and generate a file of PicTeX commands to do the typesetting within LaTeX.

It's main advantages are:

  • You get the same font in your graph as in your document.
  • It works with UNIX or Windows systems.

MatToLa was tested using various versions of Matlab.

Due to the incompatibility of the Matlab-command legend.m there are various pitfalls that need to be treated indvidually within MatToLa.

The following is a collection of outputs which MatToLa has created using various versions of Matlab.
