Kurzfassung:

The performance evaluation in modern interference limited wireless communication systems usually involves the numerical solution of challenging optimization problems. During this computation, a performance metric needs to evaluated numerically that often relies on achievable rate expressions derived from Shannon's channel capacity result and involves several variables and parameters. This computation can be done with different evaluation orders and normalizations of parameters and variables. While all these approaches are analytically equivalent, they lead to different numerical errors in finite precision computation.

The goal of this project/thesis is to evaluate the accumulation of rounding errors and numerical stability in the computation of achievable rate expressions for interference networks and related network utility functions. The results are of potential interest to most researchers working in the general area of communications theory.
