I studied Systems Engineering at the University of Bremen and am now persuing a PhD here at the ANT. Communications Engineering is fascinating to me, because it is very close to the basics of science, researching topics at a fundamental and theoretical level, but still applying it to real world engineering problems. Furthermore, it's a goog way to work on technologies we all use in our daily live, leaving a noticable positive impact on our world.
