Chorus Detection in Songs of Pop Music

Our focus lies on the problem of analysing the similarity matrix. We do so by filtering its elements including methods known from image processing and using the resulting data. The algorithm is designed to locate the beginning of a chorus as exact as possible in order to be able to extract a passage of thirty seconds from a song containing the chorus. Our simulation results show that the algorithm performs well on a variety of pop songs.
