EXIT charts have been developed in order to describe the information transfer during the iterative decoding of turbo codes. They allow for a very simple analysis of the convergence behaviour.

In this project, the fundamentals of EXIT charts shall be explained. In addition to turbo codes, serial concatenated codes and bit-interleaved coded modulation should be considered.
