Abstract: | In LTE a turbo code is applied to protect the user messages from transmission errors. As the underlying HARQ process requires that a feedback is transmitted within 3ms, a rathe strict timing contraint for the iterative decoding process is posed. In order to limit the latency, different approaches like parallel implementation, partiotioning of the trellis, and sliding window decoding are disccussed in the literature. In this thesis, different approaches to reduce the latency caused by the decoder should be investigated in principle. Promising candidates have to be implemented in Matlab in order to investigate the timing behaviour. In order to process this thesis, the lecture Channel Coding II and a basic knowledge in Matlab is essential. |
