Kurzfassung:

Motivation:
For future wireless communication systems a large number of antennas per base station is foreseen in order to support a high number of users in the cell. Compared to traditional MIMO, i.e. MIMO with at most ten antennas, the application of such a high number of antennas at the base station leads to some very interesting properties. For example, simple linear signal processing is sufficient for reliable user data estimation. On the other hand, the high number of operating antennas requires sufficient many pilot signals.

Goal:
In this thesis, the uplink of a massive MIMO system is considered. Based on a literature search the main approaches are developed and investigated. To this end, some approaches are implemented in Matlab and investigated in detail.

Requirements:
In order to process this thesis, knowledge of Wireless Communication Technologies, Linear Algebra and programming skills in Matlab are essential.
