At ANT, we work a lot on new algorithms and advancing the state of the art in communication engineering. Lots of work goes into theoretical considerations. Though, at the end of the day we want to improve real communication systems in practice. The best way forward to investigate the performance and constraints of new methods and algorithms , e.g. Information Bottleneck Methods or Machine Learning, is to implement them in software on General Purpose Hardware and measure their over-the-air performance in a realistic setup.


This is an umbrella project for GNU Radio related projects. Generally, we discuss the target of a specific thesis or project in order to evaluate the latest research results in practice.


This work combines tasks in communications engineering as well as software engineering. Therefore, you are expected to be interested in these areas and motivated to learn. GNU Radio is implemented in C++ and Python. Thus, it is helpful to learn and extend your skills in these programming languages.
